2008 Cadillac SRX

For 2008, the Cadillac SRX midsize SUV undergoes only minor changes, including standard remote start and tire pressure monitoring system on all models.

The SRX is available with a choice of 3.6-litre V6 with five-speed automatic transmission, or 4.6-litre V8 with six-speed automatic transmission, each in a single trim line. Both models can be optioned with all-wheel drive and with three-row seating.

Features on the V6 model include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, privacy glass, fog lamps, heated mirrors, black roof rack side rails, power liftgate, variable intermittent wipers, rear washer/wiper, cargo cover, cruise control, auto-dimming mirror with compass, power express up/down windows, leather seats with eight-way power driver's adjustment, 60/40 split-folding second-row seat, CD stereo with XM Satellite Radio, wiper-activated automatic headlamps, rear parking assist and OnStar.

The V8 model adds 18-inch alloy wheels with V-rated tires, heated mirrors with auto-dimming driver's side, chrome roof rack side rails, Xenon headlamps with washers, heated steering wheel, integrated rear configurable storage system, interior wood accents, heated eight-way power front seats with memory, and six-CD stereo.

Optional features and packages can add such items as a panoramic sunroof, rear climate control, power-adjustable pedals, navigation system, trailer tow package and Magnetic Ride Control.

Slotting in below the Escalade, the SRX provides a roomy interior and cargo capacity but without the bigger SUV's bulk. Headroom is excellent in all seating positions, and the interior is elegant and well-finished. The all-wheel drive system is a real full-time torque distribution variety, and the optional Magnetic Ride Control improves on what is already a smooth ride. The optional third-row seat is very tight and suitable only for children.
