NEW FOR 2012: - TBA The Escalade is available as the regular-wheelbase Escalade and Escalade Hybrid, and as the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV. The Escalade EXT pickup truck is covered in a separate entry. The Escalade and Escalade ESV use a 6.2-litre V8 with six-speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid uses a 6.0-litre V8 with hybrid system, mated to a four-speed, two-mode automatic transmission. The Hybrid can run on its gasoline engine, on battery power alone, or on a combination of the two. It recharges its battery through regenerative braking and cannot be plugged into a wall socket. All Escalade models are all-wheel drive and have three rows of seats. The Escalade 1SC adds 22-inch chrome-clad wheels, power-retractable side steps, power sunroof, second-row power fold-and-tumble seats, dual DVD head restraints, heated and cooled cupholders, leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, LED headlamps, IntelliBeam headlight control, rear entertainment system and side blind zone alert. The Hybrid 1SB builds on the Escalade 1SA and adds 22-inch chrome-clad wheels, Magnetic Ride Control, and 60/40 split-folding second-row bench with heated outboard seats. The Hybrid 1SD adds power-retractable side steps, dual DVD head restraints, power sunroof, heated and cooled cupholders, LED headlamps, IntelliBeam headlight control, rear entertainment system and side blind zone alert.
