Overview
The Cadillac CT6-V is the luxury brand's new-for-2019 high-performance full-size sedan. It's based on the more sedate CT6, but the V in the name gives away Cadillac's new Blackwing turbo V8 engine.
Available Trims
Cadillac offers the CT6-V in a single trim that is effectively the flagship of the CT6 line (the rest of which is covered in a separate buyer's guide entry). Its 4.2L twin-turbo V8 is backed up by a 10-speed transmission and standard AWD.
Standard Features
The CT6-V is standard with a number of performance features not shared with the regular CT6. Among those is rear-wheel steering, a limited-slip rear differential, performance brakes, and a sport version of Cadillac's magnetic ride control suspension.
Outside, the CT6-V wears 20-inch wheels and gets a trim-specific black mesh grille and body side mouldings, along with its own front splitter, rear fascia and spoiler designs, lighted door handles, and LED lighting.
In the cabin, occupants are treated to 16-way heated/ventilated front seats with four-way lumbar, leather upholstery, active noise cancellation, ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, a 10.2-inch infotainment display, navigation, a 34-speaker stereo, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, head-up display, heated rear seats, a camera-based rearview mirror, a power sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, passive keyless entry, electric steering column adjustments, and wireless smartphone charging.
Standard safety features include automatic parking assist, forward collision detection, warning and avoidance, blind spot monitoring with lane change alert, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, night vision, rear cross traffic alert with pedestrian detection and automatic braking, and surround-view cameras with video recording.
Key Options
CT6-V options are limited to different wheel designs and a variety of accessories.
Fuel Economy
Cadillac's fuel consumption estimates for the CT6-V are 17.3/9.5 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
Cadillac goes head-to-head here with some of Europe's speediest sedans, like BMW's M760Li, the Audi S8, and Mercedes-Benz's S 63 and S 65 flagships.
