History/Overview
In 2020, Cadillac launched the CT4 to try to gain a larger share of the compact luxury sport sedan market. The CT4 is the smaller of two sedan models, the other being the CT5. There’s also a high-performance CT4-V variant that’s covered in a separate buyer’s guide entry.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
The CT4’s only changes for 2023 are a couple of new paint colours.
Available Trims
Cadillac offers the CT4 in Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. All three start with a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, an eight-speed transmission, and rear-wheel drive. Premium Luxury can be optioned with a 2.7L turbo motor, and all three trims can add AWD.
Standard Features
Luxury trim comes with passive keyless entry, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, LED headlights/taillights, eight-speaker audio, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, heated front seats/steering wheel, dual-zone A/C, “intelux” upholstery, and wireless phone charging.
Standard driver safety assists include city-speed forward collision mitigation, pedestrian detection, lane change alert, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams.
Premium Luxury and Sport are similarly equipped, adding reverse automatic braking, 18-inch wheels, auto on/off headlights, a driver’s side auto-dimming mirror, ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, a power front passenger seat, adaptive cruise control, ambient cabin lighting, front park assist, an auto-dimming interior mirror, an integrated garage remote, and enhanced all-speed forward emergency braking.
To those upgrades, Premium Luxury also gets leather upholstery, and front-seat lumbar massage; Sport gains a rear spoiler, front-seat cushion extensions, and power front-seat side bolsters.
Key Options
A sun/sound package brings a sunroof, navigation, and a 14-speaker stereo.
A Super Cruise package adds semi-autonomous driving, navigation, 14-speaker audio, a head-up display, surround vision with recorder, and front cornering lights.
A tech bundle brings a head-up display, and a digital gauge cluster.
Fuel Economy
Cadillac’s fuel consumption estimates are 10.2/7.0 L/100 km (city/highway) for 2.0L models with RWD, and 10.5/7.6 L/100 km with AWD. With the 2.7L engine, ratings are 11.0/7.6 L/100 km for RWD models, and 11.3/8.1 L/100 km with AWD.
Competition
If you’ve got your eye on the CT4, you may also want to consider the Audi A3/S3, BMW 2 Series, Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, and the Acura Integra.
