History/Overview
The Cadillac CT4-V is the latest compact sport sedan from one of America’s oldest upscale car brands, and is Caddy’s attempt to capture the attention of driving enthusiasts who might normally gravitate toward a four-door European or Asian car.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
The CT4-V is all-new for 2022, expanding the CT4 lineup introduced in 2020 with more performance, starting with the base CT4-V and culminating in the turbo V6-powered CT4-V Blackwing.
Available Trims
Cadillac offers the CT4-V in base and Blackwing trim levels. The base car uses a 2.7L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 10-speed transmission, and a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive. Blackwing cars trade up to a 3.6L turbo V6 that comes with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission and options to the 10-speed auto.
Standard Features
CT4-V comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, auto on/off LED headlights, heated side mirrors with driver’s side auto-dimming, rain-sensing wipers, and passive keyless entry.
Inside, you get a 14-speaker sound system, wireless smartphone charging, ambient lighting, an 8.0-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, heated steering wheel, dual-zone auto A/C, heated/power-adjustable front seats with lumbar, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and leatherette upholstery.
Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert with automatic braking and pedestrian detection, blind spot monitor with lane change alert, lane departure warning/lane keep assist, automatic high beams, reverse automatic braking, and rear park assist.
Blackwing models add LED front turn signals and cornering lights, navigation, a 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster, and a power-adjustable steering wheel.
Key Options
CT4-V can be optioned with a navigation package, and a tech package that bundles a head-up display, air ionizer, and a digital gauge cluster. A climate package adds ventilated front seats with massage.
CT4-V Blackwing offers two carbon fibre exterior appearance packages, along with a tech package of air ionizer and head-up display, and the climate package. You can also add a driver assist package that brings the base car’s upgraded driver safety assists.
Fuel Economy
Cadillac’s fuel consumption estimates are 11.9/8.2 L/100 km (city/highway) for 2.7L/RWD cars, and 12.0/8.4 with AWD. Blackwing models are rated at 15.0/9.7 L/100 km with the 10-speed automatic, and 15.2/10.2 L/100 km with the six-speed manual.
Competition
The CT4-V competes primarily with the smallest European sport sedan and coupe offerings: the Audi S3, BMW M235i Gran Coupe/M240i coupe/M2, and the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45.
