Cadillac's compact sedan enters 2015 with a number of changes, the most significant of which are updated front-end styling, and a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gains 35 lb-ft of torque, giving it 295 lb-ft to go with its 270 hp.
That motor is the middle child in the line, bracketed by a 2.5L four-cylinder that makes 202 hp and 191 lb-ft, and a 3.6L V6 cranking out 321 hp and 275 lb-ft. The most popular transmission choice is a six-speed automatic, but the 2.0L turbo can be had with a six-speed manual. Cars using the 2.0L and 3.6L engines and automatic transmission can be optioned with all-wheel drive.
ATS is offered in four trims, or 'collections,' called Standard, Luxury, Performance, and Premium. A coupe body style is also new for 2015, but is covered in a separate buyer's guide entry.
Standard trim includes OnStar with turn-by-turn navigation, four-wheel disc brakes with Brembo-branded front calipers, LED taillights, heated side mirrors with body-coloured housings, backup camera, 18-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, driver information centre, tire pressure monitoring, ambient interior lighting, frameless rearview mirror, intelligent keyless entry, leather-trimmed steering wheel, lighted visor-mounted vanity mirrors, power windows, heated front seats, cloth upholstery, six-way power front seats with two-way lumbar, split-folding rear seat, nine-speaker Bose stereo, motorized flip-up screen with hidden storage compartment, wi-fi hotsport capability, and three USB ports.
Luxury Collection trim adds HID headlights, an auto-dimming side mirror with ground illumination, front and rear park assist, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated steering wheel, garage door opener, leather seats, driver seat memory for seat and side mirrors, performance front bucket seats with 12-way driver and 10-way front passenger adjustment, and four-way headrests, and the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment system.
Performance Collection cars get the driver awareness package of lane departure warning, forward collision alert, safety alert seat, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, and lane keep assist. This trim also replaces painted aluminum wheels with polished aluminum, and adds sport alloy pedals, and a 12-speaker surround sound stereo.
Finally, Premium Collection comes with a limited slip rear differential (RWD cars only), higher-capacity cooling system, sport-tuned suspension with magnetic ride control (RWD only), summer tires, ultra-bright machined-finish wheels, head-up display, power tilt-and-telescopic steering, and navigation.
