CHANGES FOR 2013: - New model. After several ill-fated attempts (i.e. Cimarron, Catera), the new-for-2013 ATS looks like a real contender in the compact luxury sedan class dominated by the BMW 3 Series. In fact, the smallest Cadillac is a virtual facsimile of the last-generation Bimmer sedan. The rear- and all-wheel-drive ATS four-door can be had with three engines: a 2.5L I4 with 202-hp; a 272-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter I4; and a 3.6L V6 with 321-hp. Except for the turbo-four – which is available with a six-speed manual gearbox – all ATS models come with a six-speed automatic transmission. With the focus on keeping the ATS’s weight down, the Cadillac offers dynamic handling, but not at the expense of a quiet ride. ATS is available in four trim levels: Standard Collection, Luxury Collection, Performance Collection, and Premium Collection.
