NEW FOR 2015:
-Standard OnStar with 4G LTE and built-in wifi hotspot
-New exterior colours
Buick refreshed its mid-size Regal for 2014, so updates are minor this time around; the most notable is the addition of standard OnStar, 4G LTE capability and a built-in wifi hotspot that lets occupants surf the web.
Base models use a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with light electrification, making the car a mild hybrid that won't run on electricity alone; total power output is 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. The other choice is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder good for 259 hp and 295 lb-ft. Both come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission; a six-speed manual is optional in the top-trim GS. Cars with the turbo engine and automatic gearbox can be further equipped with all-wheel drive.
Trim levels begin with the base Regal, and move up through Premium I, Premium II and GS.
Standard features include dual-zone climate control, Buick IntelliLink with eight-inch display screen, ten-way power driver's seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, electric parking brake, ambient lighting, 17-inch wheels, seven-speaker stereo, fog lights, backup camera, heated front seats, leather upholstery, leather-trimmed steering wheel, power windows with auto up/down for front-seat occupants and auto-down for the rear glass.
The Premium I package adds a power front passenger seat, the 2.0L engine, and 18-inch wheels.
Premium II trim brings navigation and enhanced driver information display.
Finally, the GS model deletes the spare tire, and adds a tire inflator kit, continuously variable real-time damping, front HiPer strut suspension, alloy pedals, dual exhaust, variable assist electric power steering, rear spoiler, front and rear park assist, and 19-inch wheels.
