My 89-year-old dad is not a car guy. Yet, within the first few metres of driving in the 2017 Buick Envision Preferred AWD, he pretty much wrote my review. “It’s very smooth and quiet, isn’t it?” Well, there you have it. Done like dinner. Next. Okay, there is a bit more to say about this tidy new compact crossover from Buick that nestles in between the subcompact Encore and full-size Enclave. But as far as an endorsement of its inherent Buick-ness, that’s probably about as good as it gets.

Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 202 - Head Restraints. The optional Universal Tablet Holder accessory may have been incorrectly installed on front seat head restraints, which may prevent the head restraint posts from fully engaging in the seat back. A head restraint that is not fully engaged in the seat back could loosen and dislodge, or inadvertently move to an undesired height which may provide insufficient head and neck support, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant in a crash, and would fail to comply with the requirements of the standard. Correction: Dealers will inspect the head restraints and tablet holders for correct installation and reinstall if necessary. General Motors will also mail corrected installation instructions to customers who purchased the Universal Tablet Holder over the counter for installation on their own vehicles.

Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 - Tire Selection and Rims. The combined weight of occupants and cargo, as displayed on the Tire and Loading Information label, does not meet the requirements of the Standard. As such, the vehicle could be unwittingly overloaded, which would result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install an updated Tire and Loading Information label with the correct maximum combined weight of 432 kg (952 lbs).
