For 2009, the Buick Allure is unchanged, save for the addition of standard heated mirrors on all models, new wheels for the CX, and available Bluetooth.
Known as the LaCrosse in the U.S. market, the Allure is available as the CX and CXL, with 3.8-litre V6, and as the Super, with 5.3-litre V8. All use a four-speed automatic transmission.
Features on the CX include 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, heated mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, cruise control, floor mats, tire pressure monitoring system, tilt wheel, vanity mirrors, power windows with driver's express down, six-way power driver's seat, CD stereo, automatic headlamps, traction control, and OnStar.
The CXL adds dual-zone automatic climate control, cargo net, driver information centre, tilt and telescopic wheel leather-wrapped wheel with audio controls, illuminated vanity mirrors, remote starter, and theft deterrent system.
The Super adds 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, rear spoiler, unique gauge cluster graphics, simulated wood trim, auto-dimming rearview mirror, garage door opener, heated leather seats, six-way power passenger seat, power driver's lumbar support, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, CD/MP3 Concert Sound stereo, XM satellite radio, speed-sensitive variable assist steering, handling package with Bilstein performance struts, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, full-function traction control, and rear parking assist.
The entry level model in the line-up, the Allure offers comfortable seating, an extremely quiet interior, and a nicely-sized footprint. The CX is a basic version, while the CXL and Super add on the options expected at the Buick level. The Super's more powerful engine includes Active Fuel Management, which shuts off half the cylinders under light load for improved fuel economy.
