The BMW X6 undergoes some minor exterior changes for the 2013 model year. It gets a freshened front fascia, new LED taillights, and optional adaptive LED headlights. A third-row (3-passenger) rear bench seat is an option, as well as updated leather choices in the M model.
Marketed by BMW as a 'Sport Activity Coupe,' the X6 is based on the X5 utility vehicle. The X6 blends sexy coupe styling, powerful performance and sporty handling with the practicality and off-road capabilities of a utility vehicle.
The X6 comes in three models. The xDrive35i uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder, and the xDrive50i and X6M models use a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 with higher output in the M variant. The 35i and 50i use an eight-speed automatic, while the X6M uses a six-speed automatic transmission.

The xDrive50i adds 20-inch alloy wheels, self-levelling rear air suspension, power-folding auto-dimming mirrors, anthracite roof liner, chrome window surround, navigation system, and iDrive with 8.8-inch control display.
The X6M adds four-zone automatic climate control, M-specific rear-bias xDrive, M Drive with customizable settings, M-specific mirrors, M body kit, ten-way power sport seats, and premium 16-speaker sound system.
