NEW FOR 2011: - Redesigned model For 2011, the BMX X3 is redesigned, including new styling, more powerful engines and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new model is larger than the outgoing X3. The xDrive28i uses a naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engine that now makes 240 horsepower, up from the previous 215 horsepower. The new xDrive35i uses a TwinPower turbocharged six-cylinder with twin-scroll turbocharger. Both models now offer improved fuel economy over the 2010 X3 models, and the xDrive28i model now uses 18-inch alloy wheels instead of 17-inch. The X3 is available as the xDrive28i, with 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder, and as the xDrive35i, with turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder. Both use an eight-speed automatic transmission. The xDrive refers to all-wheel drive. Features on the xDrive28i include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, Servotronic speed-sensitive steering, automatic headlamps, fog lamps, adaptive brake lights, hill descent control, trailer stability control, heated mirrors, heated windshield washer jets, rain-sensing wipers, tire pressure monitoring system, active front head restraints, keyless entry, privacy glass, rear roof spoiler, cruise control, multifunction leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, locking illuminated glovebox, illuminated vanity mirrors, auto up/down windows, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, heated eight-way power adjustable “leatherette” seats, driver’s side memory, CD/MP3 stereo with five speakers, USB and auxiliary input, Sirius satellite radio pre-wiring, Bluetooth connectivity, and iDrive with 6.5-inch screen. The xDrive35i adds bi-xenon headlamps, chrome-finish stainless steel exhaust tips, sport steering wheel, and 12-speaker sound system.
