2020 Audi SQ7

History/Overview

The SQ7 is the quickest version of Audi's biggest crossover. The three-row express has been available elsewhere in the world in previous generations, but this year it's coming to Canada for the first time.

Available Trims

The SQ7 is offered in just one trim, coming with all-wheel drive, a 4.0L turbocharged V8, eight-speed automatic, and loads of go-fast features.

Standard Features

On top of the V8, the SQ7 comes with 21-inch alloys, LED headlights with laser light, dual pane glass, and aluminum trim. It has Audi Sports Seats Plus finished with Valcona leather and wearing diamond stitching and an "S" logo. The front seats are heated and ventilated and have four-way power lumbar plus extensive adjustments. The three-spoke flat-bottom wheel has shift paddles, there is four-zone climate control, and carbon fibre trim. Audi's virtual cockpit digital display is standard along with a head-up display and panoramic roof. Wireless charging is included as is a 10.1-inch infotainment screen.

The suspension is air and tuned for the S model, there is rear steering, and the SQ7 comes with a 360-view camera, parking sensors, side and exit assist, rear cross-traffic alert, radar cruise, and pre sense front and rear.

Key Options

While the SQ7 is well equipped, at this price point there are still some impressive options. The Driver Assistance package adds intersection assistant, active cruise assist, traffic jam assist, emergency assist, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Dynamics Plus adds a sports differential and an active roll control system, and massaging seats are available. Packages with more leather trimmings and a Bang & Olufsen sound system are also on the options list.

Fuel Economy

The Audi SQ7's fuel economy estimates are for it to get 16.0 L/100 km city and 11.0 highway.

Competition

The SQ7 competes with the likes of BMW's also very quick three-row X7 M50i, or the slightly quicker Alpina XB7 based on the BMW. There is also the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 and the slightly pricier P525 Range Rover HSE.
