The Audi SQ5, with a supercharged, direct injected 3.0L V6 making 354 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque, is the high performance version of Audi's compact Q5 crossover-utility vehicle. With standard quattro all-wheel drive, torque vectoring and sport tuned suspension, it's a very quick luxury CUV. This is a brand new addition to the Audi-lineup for 2014.
There are two trims available, Progressiv and Technik. Technik adds heated rear seats, blind spot monitoring and adaptive headlights that will look around corners. Progressiv is already well equipped with 20-inch wheels with 255/45 tires, a panoramic roof, heated sport seats with Nappa leather covering and power adjustment. It also has xenon headlights with LED running lights, a rear parking sensor, and proximity key with push button start. There are automatic wipers and lights, three-zone climate control, and a 10-speaker stereo. A navigation system which includes a rear-view camera and park assist is available as an option. The only transmission choice is an eight-speed automatic.
The SQ5 is rated to give you 14.1 L/100 km city and 9.9 L/100 km highway. It's competes with the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA, but there's nothing in 2014 that will touch it in class. Not until the 2015 model year will the newly introduced GLA45 AMG and Porsche Macan come close to the acceleration. Of note for the SQ5 is that in addition to the fast acceleration, it has massive brakes that can stop shorter than an R8.
