The Audi S7 may well be the best of the premium large four-door coupe segment. That sounds like a rather small group, but that includes the BMW 6 series Gran Coupe, and the Mercedes CLS. The Audi is quicker, more luxurious, more stylish, and the rear hatch means it's got more utility as well. The grip and torque of the Audi encourage enthusiastic driving more than the others, and the inside is a nicer place to be as well. Even better, for 2016 the Audi gets a bit of a facelift. With that comes LED headlights, revised grilles, and an extra 30 hp to boost the total to a nice round 450. The only engine is a 4.0L twin turbo V8 connected to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic with quattro all-wheel drive.
The S7 comes with 20-inch wheels and a quattro sport differential which can actively move power between the rear wheels to improve traction and reduce understeer. Adaptive air suspension reduces roll while still giving excellent ride. It also allows variable ride heights to lower the car on the highway for stability and aerodynamics. Standard equipment includes full LED head and tail lights, sunroof, power hatch, folding mirrors, four-zone climate control, electric tilt and telescoping steering wheel, eight-way power Valcone leather and heated front seats, and a rear sunshade. The infotainment is an 8.0-inch screen with Audi's MMI and navigation. There is also a Bose 13-speaker stereo with bluetooth interface. The S7 has automatic lights and wipers, front and rear park alerts, rear and corner-view cameras, and blind spot alerts. There is also a heated steering wheel with paddle shifters.
Options include lane guidance, door closure assist, adaptive cruise with stop and go function, a Bang & Olufsen 15-speaker stereo, and ventilated front seats with massage function. There are also Carbon Optics and Aluminum Styling packages that add various carbon or aluminum trim and styling accents. The Audi S7 is rated at 13.4 L/100 km city and 8.8 highway.
