The Audi S7 is the middle of the performance range of Audi's full size four-door coupe, slotting in between the A7 and RS7. The S7 has a 4.0L turbocharged V8 that puts 420 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque through an seven speed dual clutch automatic and quattro all-wheel drive. The combination also has variable displacement and is rated at 13.4 L/100 km city, 8.8 L/100 km highway. The S7 remains unchanged for 2015.
The S7 comes with 20-inch wheels and a quattro sport differential, to actively move power between the rear wheels to improve traction and reduce understeer. Adaptive air suspension reduces roll while still giving excellent ride. It also allows variable ride heights to lower the car on the highway for stability and aerodynamics. Standard equipment includes full LED head and tail lights, sunroof, power trunklid, folding mirrors, four-zone climate control, electric tilt and telescoping steering wheel, eight-way power Valcone leather and heated front seats, and a rear sunshade. The infotainment is an 8.0-inch screen with Audi's MMI and navigation. There is also a Bose 13-speaker stereo with bluetooth interface. The S7 has automatic lights and wipers, front and rear park alerts, rear and corner-view cameras, and blind spot alerts. There is also a heated steering wheel with paddle shifters.
Options include lane guidance, door closure assist, adaptive cruise with stop and go function, a Bang & Olufsen 15-speaker stereo, and ventilated front seats with massage function. There are also Carbon Optics and Aluminum Styling packages that add various carbon or aluminum trim and styling accents.
The S7 is in the same ring as the BMW 650i GrandCoupe, the Mercedes-Benz CLS 550, and the Porsche Panamera. They’re all fast, very stylish, and very well appointed, but the S7 is arguably the best looking of the group.
