Issue:
On certain vehicles, the oil strainer for the turbocharger oil supply could get blocked. If this happens, a turbocharger could fail. This could cause loss of engine power and/or cause the engine to stall.
Note: This problem could cause different warning messages to display or the engine oil warning light to turn on.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the oil strainer for the turbocharger oil supply. The dealer will also inspect and document the performance of the boost pressure system and change the engine oil.
Certain vehicles may not comply with Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations. The tire certification label may bear incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) information. The label incorrectly states "520 kg" (1146 lbs) instead of the correct "450 kg" (992 lbs). If an owner were to rely on the incorrect values, it could lead to premature tire failure and vehicle overloading, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will apply a revised certification label with the correct values.
On certain vehicles, due to a manufacturing defect, a fuel line can become damaged over time and could leak fuel. Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel line if necessary.
