History/Overview
If you want speed and sleek styling in combination with a practical and roomy cabin, consider the Audi S7 Sportback, an amped-up version of the A7 mid-size fastback with the utility of an SUV and the handling of a sport sedan.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
The S7 is unchanged this year save for a handful of new safety features; the current design debuted in 2020.
Available Trims
Audi offers the S7 in a single trim, powered by a mild hybrid 2.9L turbo V6 engine, an eight-speed transmission, and AWD.
Standard Features
Every S7 starts with 21-inch wheels, air suspension, panoramic roof, an electric spoiler, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, LED matrix headlights with washers, LED taillights, passive keyless entry, and power door closers.
Inside, there’s a heated steering wheel with electric adjustments, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, four-zone A/C, an auto-dimming mirror with compass, a head-up display, digital gauges, navigation, wireless phone charging, and a B&O stereo.
All the new features are in the S7’s safety package, where remote park assist and direct TPMS are now included, along with 360-degree cameras, city-speed forward collision mitigation, blind spot monitoring, active lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and loose wheel detection.
Key Options
A sport package adds a sport rear differential, all-wheel steering, and red brake calipers. A black optics pack applies black exterior trim elements.
Fuel Economy
Audi’s fuel consumption estimates are 12.3/9.0 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
The S7’s direct competitors include the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes CLS-Class and AMG GT, and the BMW 8 Series. BMW, Mercedes and even Audi itself make comparable sedans if you want the S7’s level of performance in a more traditional body style.
