2022 Audi RS e-tron GT

History/Overview

Audi is out to prove that not only can it build a great electric car, but that it can make one worthy of Germany’s reputation for ultra-high-performance luxury vehicles. All-new for 2022, the RS E-Tron GT is the quickest expression of Audi’s EV strategy, sharing its architecture with the “regular” E-Tron GT and the Porsche Taycan.

Available Trims

Audi makes the RS E-Tron GT in a single trim level. It’s got two electric motors – one at each axle – to provide balanced performance and AWD traction.

Standard Features

The RS E-Tron GT comes dressed with 20-inch wheels, along with auto-dimming/power-fold side mirrors, carbide brakes, adaptive air suspension, LED laser headlights, LED taillights, hands-free tailgate, and a roof and other exterior elements done in carbon.

Inside, you get a power steering column, 14-way heated front sport seats, heated rear seats, auto-dimming mirror with integrated toll transponder and garage remote, three-zone A/C, and ambient lighting. High tech stuff includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation, digital gauges, and satellite radio in a Bang & Olufsen stereo.

Finally, the standard safety suite is made up of lane departure warning, blind spot monitor, pre sense 360, rear cross-traffic alert, exit warning, swerve assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise, remote parking, topview cameras, and a head-up display.

Key Options

You can add a performance package to get all-wheel steering and extra carbon exterior trim. An RS design pack brings a full leather interior, 18-way front seats with ventilation and massage, Nappa upholstery, and red seat belts. A fine Nappa package is similar, but leaves out the red seatbelts.

Fuel Economy

Audi’s energy consumption estimates for the RS E-Tron GT are 3.0/2.9 Le/100 km (city/highway).

Competition

With the RS E-Tron GT, Audi is going after cars like the Tesla Model S, the Porsche Taycan, and the Mercedes-Benz EQS.
