History/Overview
Audi does a pretty rad thing with its high-performance RS6 model: In Canada, this wickedly fast mid-size car only comes as a station wagon, making it an effective – if not necessarily affordable – way to haul ass and a whole lot more. The RS6 Avant has been available here since 2021.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2023, the Audi RS6 Avant gains a new remote park assist function.
Available Trims
Audi offers the RS6 in a single trim, powered by a 4.0L turbo V8, an eight-speed transmission, and AWD.
Standard Features
Every RS6 comes with 21-inch wheels, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, LED matrix headlights with washers, a panoramic roof, passive keyless entry, power door closers, and a power tailgate. Inside, there are heated/ventilated front seats with power adjustments and lumbar, a heated steering wheel, rear side sunshades, an auto-dimming mirror with toll module and compass, and four-zone A/C.
A 10.6-inch touchscreen handles infotainment duties and contains navigation, smartphone interface, satellite radio, and a B&O stereo. Other high-tech items include a head-up display, digital gauges, wireless phone charging, and an alarm system.
Finally, the RS6’s safety package comprises front and rear collision mitigation, active lane departure warning, traffic jam/intersection/exit warning assists, remote park assist, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams, rear cross-traffic alert, and loose wheel detection.
Key Options
A dynamic package adds four-wheel steering and a sport quattro differential. There’s also a quartet of cosmetic packages, some of which include 22-inch wheels.
Fuel Economy
The Audi RS6’s fuel consumption estimates are 16.4/11.1 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
The RS6 Avant counts the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo as its only direct competitor. If you’re not picky about body style, you can also shop this car against the BMW M5.
