Overview
The Q3 is Audi's smallest crossover offered here, and it's now just a couple of years into its second generation. Luring buyers from the A3 and A4 sedans to something with more perceived capability along with more cargo space is the forté of this segment, and it does that job well.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
Changes for 2021 include a new wheel design for the base trim along with the addition of Audi's pre sense front collision mitigation and predictive pedestrian detection. Top-spec adds traffic sign recognition, and a heated wheel is now an available option on the base trim.
Available Trims
Audi offers the Q3 with one single engine option, a 228 hp 2.0L turbo four badged Q3 45 TFSI. It has an eight-speed automatic gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive as standard. For content levels, Audi offers this in Komfort, Progressiv, and Technik trim levels.
Standard Features
Q3 Komfort includes LED head and taillights as well as LED signals in the mirrors. It has a panoramic glass roof, 18-inch alloys, and black roof rails and window trim. Inside it has leather seats, with power adjustment for the driver and heating for the front pair. A 10.25-inch digital dash is standard as is an 8.8-inch MMI touchscreen display with Bluetooth interface and USB charging. For advanced driver aids, pre sense basic and front are included as is predictive pedestrian detection.
Progressiv adds 19-inch wheels and S line bumpers and badging along with aluminum sill trim and roof rails. Both front seats are power-adjust and the tailgate is power operated. The driver assistance feature suite adds lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, and Audi side assist, plus front and rear parking sensors.
Technik adds MMI navigation plus on a 10.1-inch screen, a heated steering wheel, Bang & Olufsen audio, topview camera, and 12.3-inch virtual cockpit plus digital dash along with wireless Apple CarPlay. Traffic sign recognition is added.
Key Options
Advanced driver assist package including adaptive cruise, pre-sense front, high beam assist, and park assist are available on Progressiv and Technik. A heated wheel is a stand-alone option on all trims.
Fuel Economy
Fuel economy is not yet available for the 2021 model, but with no major changes, it should remain the same as 2020, which was rated to get 12.3 L/100 km city, 8.6 highway.
Competition
The Audi Q3 competes in a crowded segment against the Acura RDX, BMW X1, Cadillac XT4, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the Volvo XC40 crossovers.
