History/Overview
Now in its fifth year of sales, this mid-size SUV was the first member of Audi’s family of E-Tron electric vehicles. Despite what we think are obvious similarities to Audi’s more traditional crossover models, the E-Tron was conceived to appeal to brand loyalists who want the latest powertrain technology.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
The Audi E-Tron is unchanged for 2023.
Available Trims
E-Tron offerings include Progressiv and Technik trim levels. Both versions are powered by dual electric motors and wear Audi’s Quattro AWD label.
Standard Features
Progressiv trim starts with 20-inch wheels, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, hands-free tailgate, a panoramic roof, and passive keyless entry. Inside, there’s a heated steering wheel and heated front seats, leather upholstery, four-zone A/C, and an auto-dimming mirror with compass. Infotainment is handled through a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation, and you get digital gauges, wireless phone charging, and a music interface with two rear USB ports. E-Tron Progressiv’s safety kit includes front and rear collision mitigation, blind spot monitoring, lane change warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams.
Technik models add puddle lights, power door closers, wet-arm wipers, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats with four-way front-seat lumbar, rear door sunshades, leather dash trim, a B&O stereo, active cruise and lane change assist, 360-degree collision avoidance assistance, traffic sign recognition, a head-up display, and surround-view cameras.
Key Options
To Progressiv models, a vorsprung edition pack bundles an upgraded gauge cluster with a B&O stereo, orange brake calipers, a second charging port, and better interior lighting; and the convenience package brings ventilated seats with lumbar, top-view cameras, and parking sensors.
In Technik models, a luxury package adds massaging front seats, Valcona/Milano leather seating, and an air quality system.
Fuel Economy
Audi’s energy consumption estimates for the E-Tron are 3.0/3.0 Le/100 km (city/highway), with an estimated driving range of 364 km.
Competition
Shop the E-Tron against the Tesla Model X, BMW iX, Jaguar I-Pace, and the Ford Mustang Mach E.
