Issue: On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery modules could overheat and short circuit. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2024-189. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Audi recommends that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% until the recall repairs are completed. Audi will notify owners by mail. As an interim repair, a dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage battery modules. Once the final repair is available, Audi will notify you by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install an advanced diagnostic software that will monitor the high-voltage battery and warn you if it detects a problem.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the front brake hoses could fail and cause a progressive brake fluid leak. If this happens, you may experience a change in brake pedal feel and travel. This can cause reduced braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the front brake hoses.

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, a retaining ring on top of the suspension strut may become loose and detach. If this happens, air could leak from the spring and cause a drop in ride height. This could affect vehicle handling and stability. Safety Risk: A change in vehicle handling or a loss of stability could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the suspension strut.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the infotainment main unit in the center console could fail. If this happens, the display screen will not turn on when you start the vehicle and the rearview camera image will not appear when backing up. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the infotainment unit.

Issue: The owner's manual for certain vehicles lists the wrong units for the recommended tire pressures. If you rely on what is printed in the owner's manual, you may not inflate the tires properly. Driving a vehicle with tires that are not inflated correctly could cause a loss of vehicle stability and/or lead to a tire failure. Note: The tire and loading information label on the B-pillar list the correct tire pressures. Safety Risk: Tires that are not properly inflated could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and provide you with an owner's manual insert with the correct tire inflation pressures.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the wiring harness for the centre-rear seat belt buckle could interfere with the lower universal anchorage system (UAS) for securing a child seat. As a result, you may not be able to properly attach a child seat in the right-rear seat using the UAS. Safety Risk: A child seat that isn't properly secured could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the wiring harness for the centre-rear seat belt buckle. The wiring will be re-routed and secured, as necessary.

Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause a delay before the rearview camera image appears. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display within 2 seconds of shifting the transmission into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera that is slow to turn on could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the vehicle infotainment unit parameters.
