History/Overview
The Audi A5 is the German brand's compact coupe and convertible model. Introduced in 2007, it entered its second generation in 2018, which also saw the addition of a four-door Sportback variant.

For 2020, the Audi A5 gets a mid-run styling refresh that includes a new, 10.1-inch infotainment display atop the dash.
Available Trims
Audi offers the A5 coupe and Sportback in Komfort, Progressiv and Technik trims; the convertible (cabriolet) only comes in the upper two tiers. Common to all is a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine with auto start/stop, a seven-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro AWD system.
Standard Features
Audi fits the A5 Komfort coupe's exterior with 19-inch wheels and tires, heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, all-weather lights, gloss window trim, LED matrix headlights, and LED taillights.
The cabin is fitted with the new 10.1-inch display, a leather steering wheel with shift paddles, three-zone climate control, heated/power-adjustable front seats with lumbar, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, split-folding rear seats, Audi's smartphone and music interface, satellite radio, a 10-speaker stereo, push-button ignition, and drive modes.
Safety kit includes tire pressure monitoring, blind spot warning, rain-sensing wipers, auto on/off headlights, Audi Connect, city-speed forward collision warning and mitigation, rear collision warning and preparation, and exit warning.
The A5 Sportback Komfort adds a power tailgate.
A5 Progressiv models add rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, auto-dimming mirrors, a frameless interior mirror with compass, hands-free trunk release, a digital gauge cluster, heated steering wheel, driver's seat memory, passive keyless entry, garage door opener, aluminum interior trim, and navigation.
A5 Technik trim brings 360-degree exterior camera views, LED matrix headlights with washers and laser light, power-folding side mirrors, dynamic LED taillights, ambient interior lighting, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo.
Key Options
An A5 Komfort convenience package adds front and rear parking sensors, driver's seat memory, auto-dimming side mirrors, a heated steering wheel, passive keyless, and rear cross traffic alert.
The move to Progressiv and Technik opens up the comfort seating pack of sport front seats with ventilation, and front passenger power lumbar. Those trims can also be had with an advanced driver assist pack comprising adaptive cruise, lane keeping and congestion assists, traffic sign recognition, and all-speed forward collision detection.
Fuel Economy
Audi's fuel consumption estimates for the A5 are 10.0/7.3 L/100 km (city/highway) for the coupe and Sportback, and 10.0/7.4 in the convertible.
Competition
Audi's A5 competition includes the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, coupe and convertible models, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe and convertible, Infiniti's Q60, the Volkswagen Arteon, and the Kia Stinger.
