Following a styling refresh for 2013, the Audi A4 moves into 2014 with a minor mechanical update: the 2.0-litre TFSI four-cyliner that powers all A4 models gains nine horsepower, for a total of 220. Trim levels are Komfort, Progressiv and Technik. The base FronTrak Komfort model is also the only front-drive model, and the only to use a continuously variable automatic. Beyond that point, all A4s use Quattro all-wheel drive, in Komfort, Progressiv and Technik trims, with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
The only A4 wagon is the Allroad. All trims?Komfort, Progressiv and Technik?are all-wheel drive, and all use the eight-speed automatic.
The high-performance S4 uses a supercharged, 3.0-litre V6 that makes 333 horsepower. Trims are Progressiv and Technik, and transmission choices are between a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
A4 Komfort standard features include 17-inch aluminum wheels, sunroof, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, Audi music interface, leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats, power driver's seat with lumbar, heated outside mirrors, Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights; Quatto models add a split folding rear seat.
A4 Progressiv models add 18-inch wheels, navigation, intelligent keyless entry and pushbutton start, power front seats with memory, auto-dimming interior mirror with compass, high-gloss exterior trim, aluminum interior trim, trunk storage package, auto-dimming and heated outside mirrors, three-zone climate control, driver information system with colour display.
To that, top-trim A4 Technik models add different 18-inch wheels, backup camera, Homelink, Audi side assist, adaptive (steerable) Xenon headlights, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo.
An A4 Allroad's standard feature list is similar to that of the A4. In Komfort trim, the Allroad adds 18-inch wheels, panoramic sunroof, aluminum roof rails and a power tailgate.
The Allroad Progressiv adds a rear park assist system to the A4 Progressiv sedan's list. The Allroad Technik's standard features echo those of the A4 Technik sedan's.
In the S4 Progressiv, standard kit includes 18-inch wheels, sunroof, automatic headlights and rain-sensing headlights, Bluetooth, Audi music interface, flat-bottom leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, heated front seats, power front seats with memory, auto-dimming interior mirror with compass, high-gloss exterior trim, brushed aluminum interior trim, trunk storage package, auto-dimming heated outside mirrors, three-zone climate control, driver information system with colour display, rear-seat load-through provision, nappa leather seats, Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights and taillights.
