The European Honda Accord–based, five-passenger, front-wheel-drive TSX continues with a 201-hp, 2.4L I4 as its starter engine, which can be mated to a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. An optional 280-hp, 3.5L V6 version comes only with the autobox. Redesigned in 2009, this second-generation TSX is larger and heavier than its predecessor, but still offers nimble handling. For 2011, Acura’s compact sports sedan received a freshened exterior and interior, new features and technology with attention to cabin quietness, and fuel economy improvements to both four- and six-cylinder engines. The Canadian-exclusive base model with cloth interior has been discontinued for 2013. However, with a limited run of 150 units, a new A-Spec trim is available that adds some nice extras, such as larger wheels and a unique interior, to the TSX Premium. Features on TSX Premium include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, fog lights, Bluetooth connectivity, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary jack and USB port, XM satellite radio, compass, tire pressure monitoring system, power sunroof, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, auto-dimming rearview mirror, twin illuminated vanity mirrors, garage door opener, power windows, power locks with keyless entry, speed-sensing variable intermittent wipers, tilt and telescopic steering column, xenon headlamps, two-position driver memory, perforated leather-trimmed upholstery, premium sound system, and 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The A-Spec package adds 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, silver-plated paddle shifters (A/T only), P225/45 R18 summer performance tires, red-trimmed ebony suede seat surfaces, “A-Spec” badging, front/side/rear underbody spoilers, red ambient cabin lighting, and metal racing pedals. The Technology package adds (to Premium) a six-CD stereo, reverse camera, navigation system with bilingual voice recognition, and 60-GB hard disc drive. The V6 Technology model builds on the four-cylinder Technology, but adds 18-inch alloy wheels.
