Acura slims down its flagship sedan's lineup for 2016 as this luxury car loses its entry-level gasoline-only powertrain, leaving just the Sport Hybrid variant that was the top-end model in 2015. Along with that comes a $4,500 price cut, for an MSRP of $65,490.
This big sport sedan offers impressive performance, thanks to a 3.5L V6 and electric motor powering the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, plus an electric motor at each rear wheel to provide both AWD grip and the torque vectoring function Acura's SH-AWD setup is known for. Total power output is 377 hp and 341 lb-ft of torque.
For all of its performance potential, the RLX promises great thrift, too: Natural Resources Canada's ratings for the car are 8.0/7.5 L/100 km (city/highway).
Standard features include active noise cancellation, navigation, electric parking brake, heated steering wheel, multi-angle backup camera, 14-speaker sound system, 12-way power front seats, heated front and rear seats, LED headlights, taillights and foglights, and sunroof.
The only step up is the Elite package, which brings auto-dimming side mirrors, upgraded stereo, front and rear parking sensors, power rear sunshade and manual rear side sunshades, surround-view backup camera, and ventilated front seats.
