CHANGES FOR 2013: - Redesigned model. Based on the new Honda CR-V, the Acura compact crossover drops its turbocharged four-cylinder for a naturally aspirated V6, gains a new six-speed automatic transmission, replaces the Acura-exclusive rear-torque-vectoring SH-AWD system for the Honda’s slip-and-grip setup and loses its somewhat awkward exterior looks for a more generic style. The RDX’s new 3.5L V6 with 273 hp is much smoother than the older model’s blown-four, as is the ride. With the extra gear in the new autobox, the RDX scores better fuel economy, too. And the extra length in its wheelbase not only adds much-needed legroom for rear occupants, but also delivers a smoother ride.
