What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
The 2023 Acura MDX is unchanged following last year’s arrival of a new, fourth-generation design.
Available Trims
Acura offers the MDX in base, Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite, Type S, and Type S Ultra trim levels. The first four packages use a 3.5L V6 engine, while Type S models get a 3.0L turbo V6. Both engines are matched with a 10-speed transmission and AWD.
Standard Features
The base MDX gets 19-inch wheels, LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, passive keyless entry, and rain-sensing wipers. Inside, there’s a 12.3-inch infotainment display, an auto-dimming mirror, digital gauges, three-zone A/C, wireless phone charging, and a nine-speaker stereo. Comfort comes in the form of heated/12-way power front seats, a heated steering wheel, and leatherette upholstery.
Also included is a suite of driver assists comprising forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, rear cross-traffic monitor, adaptive cruise control, and traffic jam assist.
Tech adds 20-inch wheels, power-folding side mirrors, hands-free tailgate operation, navigation, front and rear parking sensors, 12-speaker audio, heated second-row seats, and leather upholstery.
A-Spec gains LED fog lights, a 16-speaker stereo, Ultrasuede/leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats.
Platinum Elite adds a head-up display, surround-view cameras, and 16-way front seats.
Type-S rides on 21-inch wheels and adds sensor control dampers with a height-adjustable air suspension, and Brembo brakes. Type S Ultra gains a 25-speaker sound system, quilted leather upholstery, and massaging front seats.
Fuel Economy
Acura’s fuel consumption estimates are 12.6/9.4 L/100 (city/highway) for base, Tech, A-Spec and Platinum Elite models; the Type S is rated for 13.8/11.2 L/100 km.
